Optimism flows at Merlin’s London Sea Life

13 January 2022

Last night (Wednesday, 12th January), Merlin hosted a special evening at Sea Life London Aquarium welcoming over 120 people, with guests comprising of key event buyers and agents within the hospitality and events sector. The evening was a chance for guests to catch up after a tough couple of years, and to discuss the year ahead.

The event had over a 95% attendance rate, which for any event at any time of the year is high, but is particularly impressive given the uncertainty the country faced yet again only a few weeks ago.

Nicky Pratt, Head of Sales and Marketing at Merlin Venues said; “We were extremely pleased with the attendance at last night’s event. The turnout is also indicative of the enthusiasm our industry has to get events ‘back on track’.

The general consensus of those attending, based on the level of enquires and customers wanting to confirm events, was that the events industry will return with bookings taking place from March onwards.”

Colin Sayers, Seasoned Managing Partner, Events, said, “Seasoned were delighted to support our partner Merlin, and C&IT with such a great event this early in the year. The success of last night only proves that the hospitality industry is eager to start the year positively, which is phenomenal.

Conference and Incentive Travel has always been a big part of Seasoned’s business prior to the pandemic, which we saw slowly return for the latter part of 2021 so we’re thrilled to see this continue into 2022”.
